…a food-based art feed all about movies.
My amazingly talented wife had an idea for an Instagram feed in September of 2024: what if we made food and beverages, one dish per day for the month of October, that were all themed around our favorite holiday: Halloween?
What if we used it as a chance to practice our food photography and design skills and turned the food into works of art based on some of our favorite spooky movies, tv shows, books, etc.?
As a result, Slugmealz was born.
Since then we’ve expanded to more holidays and continued our now yearly post-a-day Snacktober tradition.
My wife loves a pun almost as much as I do, so it was a blast coming up with our food-based title parodies. An additional fun challenge was to figure out how to shoot and manipulate photos of our creations in ways that would honor their inspirations.
